Over the years, manufacturers have added particles into films to change the film properties. For example, adding of ATO (antimony tin oxide) and ITO (indium tin oxide) allowed for better rejection of heat. Adding too much of this particles cause the films to be reflective and is an inelegant approach to rejecting heat. It is as though you are placing a metal sheet on your window! Furthermore, in the past, there was a threshold that the sum of IR Rejection and VLT cannot exceed 100%. For example, if you have a film with VLT of 70%, you can only have 30% of IR Rejection. In order words, if you want to let light pass through, you will need to let heat pass through.

With advancement in technology, especially in the field of nanoparticles, this threshold has been well and truly broken. Our films, which uses sputtered nano-ceramic particles allows you to have high VLT and at the same time, high IR rejection. For example, our 65% VLT film blocks out 99% of IR!
