Over the years, manufacturers have added particles into films to change the film properties. For example, adding of ATO (antimony tin oxide) and ITO (indium tin oxide) allowed for better rejection of heat. Adding too much of this particles cause the films to be reflective and is an inelegant approach to rejecting heat. It is as though you are placing a metal sheet on your window! Furthermore, in the past, there was a threshold that the sum of IR Rejection and VLT cannot exceed 100%. For example, if you have a film with VLT of 70%, you can only have 30% of IR Rejection. In order words, if you want to let light pass through, you will need to let heat pass through.
With advancement in technology, especially in the field of nanoparticles, this threshold has been well and truly broken. Our films, which uses sputtered nano-ceramic particles allows you to have high VLT and at the same time, high IR rejection. For example, our 65% VLT film blocks out 99% of IR! With this, you can allow natural light to illuminate your house while at the same time block out unnecessary heat.
This advancement not only protect your family members against intolerable heat of the sun. As house decorations becomes more sophisticated, along with green technology advancements, people are becoming more savvy. They want something that looks good, and at the same time helps them to save cost in the long run. With this films, you can be assured that you will use less electricity for lights, air conditioning and fan. In the long run, these will last much longer before they breaks down as well. We estimate the ROI from savings of electricity alone to be 4-5 years. This is excluding the additional comfort and pride you will receive from installing our films!
While HDB and private housings generally does not impose much regulations, for Condominiums where there are Management Committees, there might be rules in place for the colour and minimum VLT of your films. If you have such concerns, do let us know and we can certainly help you with it!
